Maths tutor wanted

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm looking for a maths tutor for my 8 year old son who is in year 3 of a mainstream primary school. He has high functioning autism and struggles with simple addition, subtraction and times tables. I'm looking for a calm, patient tutor with experience of teaching this age group, who is able to make maths fun and introduce activities that will improve his confidence with numbers. If this sounds like you, please get in touch.

Many Thanks,

Caroline

Hello,

My name is Elisabetta and I am a maths tutor based in Brockley.

I am currently tutoring one 8 year old girl in Blackheath on Saturday morning and I am available to travel within 3 miles from my house, but I am happy to discuss any other location.

I am a Computer Science student at Goldsmiths University and I am planning to do a teacher training for primary school in the near future.

I have been working in the childcare sector for more than 5 years and I have worked as a maths and italian tutor both with adults and children.

I strongly believe that building a strong relationship with tutee and tutor is immensely beneficial for the student's development, enjoyment of the lesson and the management of their behaviour.

This is why I like for my tutorials to be focused on building a rapport with myself and the tutee, talking about their interests, the way the subject is taught in their school and playing maths based games or art.

Working this way allows me to tailor each lesson to the tutee's strengths and weaknesses and to find teaching strategies that suit their learning style.

I am extremely passionate about teaching maths and I believe that every student has the capacity to learn and reach their full potential with appropriate guidance.

I have a DBS check and my hourly rate is ?30.

Thank you,

Elisabetta

    • It's local independent shops supporting one another.
    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
    • Local (especially independent) businesses should do like Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable and offer a discount to anyone who can show them a receipt from Chacarero dated the same day.
