I know James can get a little party political at times, but in general he is a very big force for good around here.

That sort of tiresome political posturing, however, is just a cheap shot and not much use to anyone. And, AFAIK, you don't have the mitigation of actually being useful to the general community, puzzled.

James - funny how you like to give it, but change subject and clearly can't take it.

As a Southwark Cllr I cannot see how you can blame the other administration. On things such as this which are NOT political you should all be pulling together working for the good of the community, as it is us who suffer.

Speaking as a Labour supporter generally I have to agree with Loz here... James always seems like he has a genuine desire to help people and his availability here is really refreshing. I don't get to spend a lot of time on the forum so I probably haven't seen a lot of James's posts but I don't get the impression that he comes here to push his political agenda especially.

Quite rightly if I go of the thread topic or am overtly political the administrator reprimands me.

If you ever feel I have done this please do report me.

If the administration does something wrong I will say so. Equally when they do something right such as the food waste pilot I say so.

When the lib deems led Southwark council I said sorry several times when things went wrong. Equally I was proud when things went well.

    • Having reached the ripe old age of 62 without ever trying a cigarette, I wondered how much vapes cost? My parents were avid cigarette smokers as were my in-laws and sadly they paid the price. Can’t believe £20 is the norm for a packet of fags now as a family member is still a heavy smoker much to my sadness.  I often see young people in the local newsagent etc choosing a vape flavour like cherry or strawberry as if it’s a normal part of their lives and holding up the queue because they can’t decide.  So can anyone explain the cost of a vape thing and are they addictive?
    • Maybe not, but I use the same excuse for leftover Indian food. It's quite difficult to similarly rationalise last night's pizza, though.
    • I've realised all retailers based in stations charge a premium-In my last job I had to travel to and from marylebone and I realised the drink I was buying in M&S there was up to 40p more expensive than Lordship Lane M&S-And The drink in question would be water or juice so thats up to a 20% mark-up. The maddest mark-up I experienced recently was when I was unfortunate enough to go to to Bicester Village with a friend who wanted a 'girls day out there' (OLD girls in our case).. We went to Pret a Manger for lunch and the Salad I usually get was £2 more expensive there..ditto all the sandwiches had a couple of quid slapped on them-I've never experienced those mark-ups at Pret's in stations only there.
