cancelled - Grove Vale/ E.Dulwich station bridge closure

Grove Vale from East Dulwich station bridge to Melbourne Grove will be closed 10pm Thursday 15 February until 6am Friday 16 February. Crane work I've been told.

The proposed detour is via Peckham.

Thank you for the information - could be problematic particularly as Grove Vale is a main artery for emergency service vehicles to Kings College Hospital.

Will be for ambulances that are on blue light and bound for Kings.

They can nip down Copleston and up Avondale Rise - not ideal but I wouldn't have thought it'd add more than a minute, really.

After querying exactly what the closures are for I've just been told that they're no longer needed:

"

Good morning Councillor, so to update you, the closure of Grove Vale by Network Rail is no longer required.

"

BTW it was a Network Rail request to check the bridge - presumably they've found another way to do this that costs them less and doesn't cause the road to be closed.

Except right hand doesnt know this. Signs have appeared proclaiming the closure.
