Virgin Media Mobile performance

Has anyone got experience of Virgin Media mobile performance? I am considering the Blackberry Curve 8520 for my almost-teen which is being offered on a really good contract deal at the moment for VM customers. Anyone had any signal or performance problems with VM mobile or any problems with the Blackberry Curve 8520?

My wife got has had one of those on VM since January and no problems with reception so far, though she's not a heavy mobile user and most of its use has been within London.

I've been with VM for years and never had problems with reception, except in Sainbury's, which is a VM dead zone. That's a bit of a pain in the rear.

As for the BB - I have an 8510 on O2 (company phone). Brilliant for email and very good for calls, but if you expecting the sort of apps you get on Android and iPhones then you may be disappointed.

I believe VM mobile uses the same network as Orange/Tmobile and might be worth asking those customers for feedback.

Despite having already rubbished Virgin Media's broadband and tv service on another thread I have to admit that I've never had a problem with their mobile service. Reception is usually fine and their customer service has been good on the few occasions I've needed to contact them.
