Levered open cleanly a locked and incredibly 'secure' double-glazed window. I was even able to close and relock it! Some time during day. Police and forensics lovely - and fast getting here. Neighbours said two dodgy young men (one black one white) came to his door about 6pm saying they were collecting for unmentioned charity, but no clipboard or anything - casing? (And please coun. James Barber, don't even think of hijacking this thread with your sodding party-political platitudes and statistics!).

I live just by you, off the top of oglander road. I went to bed early so no tv on and no car outside (left at my mums).

Our doorbell went at 8pm. I ran to the door thinking it was a neighbour friend and no one was there but the gate was wide open..

Perhaps they were seeing if we were in too :(

Edit to say: really sorry about what happened to you guys.

sorry that this has happened to you buddug.

I live near to you, heard my doorbell ring at about 6.30ish and there was no one at the door so i went out on the street and saw two groups of youngish people in light blue t-shirts with clip boards going door to door, not sure what they wanted but they did not wait long for someone to come an answer the door before going onto the next house. I don't think they are connected with budug's buglary but Saila it may have been these people that rang your doorbell...

    • Found Chilli & Garlic to be pretty tasty and very good value, a really welcome addition amongst the sourdough, bakeries and pub fare. Personally, I prefer smaller sized Falafel, for more crunch and lightness. And I found overall, everything lacking a bit of punch. More Chilli and Garlic, and pickles please! Maybe that’s just what I’m accustomed to.  Highly recommend the falafel on Northcross Road market - amazing value, really excellent falafel, and you can really taste the care that goes into the homemade fresh pickles, sauces & salads.  Having travelled extensively in the middle east & I find it a close match to the many falafel stands I have tried.
    • MSN is an aggregator. Not a news source   the source is a Nick Gutteridge article in the Telegraph so, closer to reform than BBC   (I would question BBC news reliability these days mind you) It would be difficult to describe gutteridge as objective.  But it would be easy to claim he is frequently wrong, bordering on bonkers   https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/n/nf-nj/nick-gutteridge/ There is no physical reality where, as we run out of fossil fuels and turn to whatever will replace them, where existing fossil fuels don’t become more expensive  not this country, not any country - you might see some short term ups and downs as politics plays its part - but to whine about your political enemies tackling the dwindling fossil fuels is both childish and playing with people’s lives
    • I popped in to have a chat with them and a look around after I'd eaten somewhere else so didn't sample anything, but they seemed to have plenty of staff so hopefully service won't be too slow! Planning to try soon.
