feisty doorstep salesman

Just had man wanting to sell cleaning stuff at door, waved some sort of card around, refused to leave when said we didn't do doorstep sales - if I didn't want to buy anything could I just give him some cash as he 'needed to be accommodated'. Only left when said would call the police and shut the door on him.

I had someone similar visit, his laminated card said "Hawkers Association" or similar. I was polite but shut door on him, but I could still hear him shouting abusively outside.

why open the door in the first place? Why not just say 'sorry, can't come to the door'

I think I may have seen him carrying a large crate full of what I presume was dusters etc near to Dulwich Library earlier.

One thing I've noticed is that these sales people don't go door-to-door to every single house. Is there a reason for selecting particular houses or do they only do a few in each street so that they can get away quickly if necessary.

We have had these guys round several times lately including yesterday. When we pointed out a sign saying we do not buy anything at the door the seller yesterday maintained that he could not read.

They?re doing Adys Rd at the moment. Really aggressive. Just gave 101 a call.

This guy has just called at our house in Keston Road he was very pushy and aggressive. Unfortunately I didnt get the name of his company but his attitude was totally unacceptable

Calling again on Woodwarde Rd this time. Very threatening and aggressive and would not leave when asked. Threatening to come back. I think these need to be referred to the police as they call.

Absolutely agree - it's not acceptable at all to try to initimidate/threaten people and get aggressive if they don't want to buy things at their door. I wonder what the purpose of the visits really are. Does seem like a type of scoping out. I called 101 recently and encourage others to do the same if these callers are aggressive or visit at antisocial hours.
