As last week, no train services from ED this weekend. Additionally, no Victoria London Bridge service on Sunday.

The timetabled replacement bus times shown on the National Rail Journey Planner for the ED trains

(I checked for 10:00-12:00 each day) are:

Saturday 9 July

ED to London Bridge: 19 and 49 minutes past the hour

ED to Tulse Hill: 10 and 40 minutes past the hour

Sunday 10 July

ED to London Bridge: 10, 27, 40 and 57 minutes past the hour

ED to Tulse Hill: 05 and 35 minutes past the hour

Peckham Rye departures - as above, with 7 minutes difference

Stated journey time, ED to London Bridge - 25 min.

I don't know when this particular project will end (it's been 3 consecutive weekends now), but the weekend service has been patchy for years - particularly on Sundays.

I expect you'll have to get used to alternative ways of getting into town - I think trains from Denmark Hill are running, if that's any help.

Southern's updated journeycheck page, which currently covers up to 29th July, reports for Sundays 17th and 24th:

"Track improvements and maintenance are taking place on 17/07/11 between London Bridge and Streatham Common.

Whilst work is taking place, buses will replace trains

between London Bridge and Streatham Common via Streatham Hill

between Streatham Common and London Bridge via Streatham Hill"

Enquiries on the National Rail Journey Planner do show replacement buses from ED again on those two days. :(

    • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
