Hi Sean, my son lost his rings (one from his grandfather and the other is a signet ring) in Devon, so I was just getting in touch to see if it would be possible to borrow your metal detector for a few days? We're happy to pay for it.

All the best, Rachel.

Hi Rachel, Sean of Dulwich isn't on this forum any more as he was shown the red card by admin for some unpleasantness, so you might not get a reply. Just wanted to suggest that you can pick up very basic "beginners" metal detectors for very little, e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/263733743954 - unlikely to be great but as you're presumably expecting the rings to be lying on the surface should be good enough. Alternatively, look for metal detecting clubs in the area, sure they'd be pleased to do a sweep in return for a modest donation to club coffers. Good luck!
Used a metal detector for the first time yesterday in my back garden.soon as I switched on got a strong signal.dug down about a metre found nothing cut a long story short .where ever I went in the garden I got a strong signal after digging about 15 holes and finding nothing .remembered I was wearing steel toe cap boots .
