Geese in Dulwich park

I noticed a few weeks ago that the Canada geese have disappeared from Dulwich park. Any idea why or have I just gone too early in the morning?

No, they haven't disappeared, they are there in the afternoon.

Maybe they spend the mornings in Peckham Rye park .....

Saw them this morning about 7:30am at Dulwich Sports Ground....

They definitely fly between at least Dulwich Park and Peck Rye - we're in the flight path. I usually hear them from early spring.

It's been there a while.

It was getting very very close to some toddlers feeding it the other day. They can be quite vicious (swans not toddlers. Though come to think of it ..... :) )

Not sure I would be happy to let my kids get that close to a swan.

The geese in Dulwich Park have probably migrated for the winter, though some rough it out and stay.

There's only been one pair in our local park pond for a couple of months now.

They tend to flock in winter, so you tend to see more of them when you see them, but you see them less :-)

A pair spotted leaving Dulwich park lake at 1030 this morning, maybe on their way to Peckham?

I think they should all be issued with those electronic tag things, so we can all keep abreast of where each goose is at all times :))

Saw a gaggle of Canada geese in Burgess Park a couple days ago, near the lake. Also saw them there throughout early December.

I had great joy watching three geese trying to land in Dulwich Park recently. They circled round the sport field and managed to land after three last minute failed attempts!
