My little boy has been completely off his food and a little grumpy lately so we went to the GP and he diagnosed ear infection in one ear. He is also quite run down from having had an endless cough/cold.

GP prescribed antibiotics but baby is really not himself at all, very touchy and fussy especially when lying down. I have taken to napping with him so he can breasfeed himself to sleep. Is calpol or nurofen best in this situation? And how long does it usually take to clear up?

I have always found the antibiotics kick in pretty quickly for this, and it passes in 2-3 days. I've found nurofen works best, or alternating the 2 if temp/pain really bad. It's obviously really painful for them, so whatever works (sounds like feeding in your case - we used a dummy lots during these episodes).

    • If no one else has a problem, then it sugggests that the delivery person may not be aware of any harm and would respond well to a conversation. It also goes without saying that just because no one else has a problem, that the OP is not valid in raising their issues.

    • Is anyone else having difficulty booking Silver Swim sessions (Tuesday and Thursday between 3pm-4pm?) Almost all the spaces are taken before the online booking system opens at 10pm several days before. Last night there appeared to be one space available for next Tuesday. I tried to book at one second past 10pm but was unsuccessful. This seems to have been a recent phenomenon. I made a telephone call this morning but just received a recorded message saying that the voicemail box was full. Am I right in assuming that in person bookings are now taking precedence over online ones?
    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
