Having so far kept all my daughter and son's baby clothes, I am rapidly reaching the situation of having more kids clothes than Mothercare! Really do need to sort through it all.

The newborn/ young baby clothes are all barely worn and perfect condition so easy to rehome

My daughter does however have some outgrown clothes that although not at all worn out and loads of wear left, do have the odd mark on. Nothing major, just nit perfect. Seems very wasteful to bin these but then what can be done with them? Any ideas?

I thought charity's only wanted the perfect stuff. I suspected that charities that actually use the clothes rather than sell them may be happy to accept them but wasn't sure..... Is there anywhere local that would use them?

The marks may even come out, maybe a soak in vanish, another wash and hung out to dry on a sunny day....

My Mum voluteers in a charity shop - stuff too worn to sell goes in a rag bag & gets sold off by weight so the charity still benefits.

I think it then gets sorted & some goes overseas - Africa etc, some cut up for arts & crafts, some as rags for garages etc.

I'd say either to charity or give away as a job lot by age via the forum. Personally I think some less than perfect clothes are perfect for days when we are painting/doing art & crafts/off to the allotment etc.!!

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
