VW T25 CAMPERVAN For Sale - ?4800

Recommended Posts

Hi

We are selling 'Poppy' our beautiful beige VW High Top Campervan. We've owned it for around 6 years and have loved every moment spent in it. Its been around the UK with us and a few festivals and has always been loyal. We're selling as the family cannot all fit in any longer meaning we are not getting the use out of it we would like.

Poppy has just passed her MOT last week with flying colours and only a minor advisory. She isnt our usual motor so we only drive her when we're going somewhere fun, so the mileage in the last 6 years will be lower than that of a regular vehicle. Shes a high top van so as long as you're not a giant you can stand up in the van and not hunch about all the time (Really useful if your travelling around in it for any significant time!)

Internally; both front seats swivel to be rear facing, rear seats have lap belts installed, The whole rear seat converts to a bed (rock and roll bed), Three ring gas hob and grill, fridge freezer, sink and water storage for sink tap, plenty of cupboard space all around and extra in the high top area, skylight, openable windows in the high top area, new leisure battery and main battery installed a couple of years ago, plug for connection to mains at campsites, new clutch a few year ago.

As for the negatives; As with a lot of these van shes needs some work internally and out and with me being time poor to invest in repairing it all. She feels a bit dated (the interior I believe was from the original conversion so I have been reluctant to tear out any original features) but ive seen lots of sympathetic updates others have done to their vans. There is rust in the usual places on the seams, the edge of windows and on the sliding door. The bodywork is good for its age overall and the electrics (for the leisure part of the van) needs a general looking into.

Main details are;

1986 D Reg

1.9 Petrol Watercooled engine

Beige

High top

4 Gears

Its super cool and fun to drive

I havent had time to take any decent photos of the interior so have only included one of the outside from a previous trip we had. I strongly recommend you come a take a look and a test drive anyway if you are interested as its better to see it in person than in photos - but i'll try to add some more in the coming week.

Thanks for the interest

    • Having enjoyed a day with Sayce HolmesLewis, I understand what you’re saying.  I appreciate your courage responding on here.
    • Thank you to everyone who has already shared their thoughts on this. Dawson Heights Estate in the 1980s, while not as infamous as some other estates, did have its share of anti-social behaviour and petty crime. My brother often used the estate as a shortcut when coming home from his girlfriend’s house, despite my parents warning him many times to avoid it. Policing during that era had a distinctly “tough on crime” approach. Teenagers, particularly those from working-class areas or minority communities, were routinely stopped, questioned, and in some cases, physically handled for minor infractions like loitering, skateboarding, or underage drinking. Respect for authority wasn’t just expected—it was demanded. Talking back to a police officer could escalate a situation very quickly, often with harsh consequences. This was a very different time. There were no body cameras, dash cams, or social media to hold anyone accountable or to provide a record of encounters. Policing was far more physical and immediate, with few technological safeguards to check officer behaviour. My brother wasn’t known to the police. He held a full-time job at the Army and Navy store in Lewisham and had recently been accepted into the army. Yet, on that night, he ran—not because he was guilty of anything—but because he knew exactly what would happen if he were caught on an estate late at night with a group of other boys. He was scared, and rightfully so.
    • I'm sure many people would look to see if someone needed help, and if so would do something about it, and at least phone the police if necessary if they didn't feel confident helping directly. At least I hope so. I'm sorry you don't feel safe, but surely ED isn't any less safe than most places. It's hardly a hotbed of crime, it's just that people don't post on here if nothing has happened! And before that, there were no highwaymen,  or any murders at all .... In what way exactly have we become "a soft apologetic society", whatever that means?
