I've got a printer/fax/scanner/copier that I no longer use since I changed jobs. I wanted to give it to local school or charity - any ideas how to find out if anyone could use it? I'd put it in the Items offered section but from previous experience I've not always attracted worthy recipients there - one chap claimed to belong to a homeless shelter then promptly sold the stuff on GumTree for a profit.

Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers used to borrow laptops from an IT charity (for training etc.). I was wondering whether that charity might be able to use the printer or advise you about a worthy cause. Maybe SDCAS could put you in touch with them.

SDCAS contact details:

Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers,

Copleston Centre, Copleston Road, London SE15 4AN

Tel: 020 7732 0505

Email: [email protected]

Main office is staffed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and is based at the Copleston Centre.

How about approaching Bell House at 27 College Road - they from my understanding are becoming morexinvolved in community events... Also Southwark CAN has a volunteer section which I assume is for people but might give you some ides as to organisations/ charity.

    • Yes, Dulwich Village commands a premium and justifiably so given access to the City via London Bridge plus the top rate schools within walking distance.  The bus services are really good also - 37, 42 and P4. The P4 is useful for connecting to the Victoria line at Brixton. It's worthwhile waiting for the right property. I know of one which will be coming on the market in a few weeks - 4 bedrooms and south facing garden circa £2.5m.
    • This is an utterly foolish and alarmist statement, completely at odds with reality.
    • I realise this is highly unlikely, but if anyone has a colour laser printer in very good working order, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands!
    • I found Leon on EDF and I could not be happier with the work he has completed for us. He changed a number of switches and fitted a ceiling light.  He was polite, tidy and arrived exactly on time. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician 07707 925039
