Bike Train to central London March 21st

Recommended Posts

this is our regular, monthly, led ride for commuters heading for central London. It's all free. We will be using Quietway 1 -- London's best quietway -- and the protected cycle lanes on Blackfriars Road and Bridge.

We start from Nunhead Station at 7.45am and Peckham Rye station at 7.55am. The stop at Peckham Rye is at the bike stands behind McDonalds. Arrival time on the bridge is 8.30am and (with a bit of warning) we can take you on from there. We travel rather slowly so no one should worry about being left behind. Any queries to me on 07842 640 207.

I should also mention our Bike Taxis for people who don't find Wednesdays convenient or want to go somewhere else entirely. These (also free) are customised just for you. They take a bit more arranging but you get a Bike Buddy to take you to your work doorstep at a time and date convenient to you. Queries to the number above or email [email protected]

We means Southwark Cyclists who are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. The LCC works for safe, fun cycling in London. Everything we do is free and anyone can do it with us. You don't have to join LCC or live in Southwark. https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
