If it really is still in good condition and not worn or faded then charity shops will take it.

If it's too worn for you to want to keep then consider it good for recycling only.

Animal charities will take towels but I'm not sure white sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are useful to them itatm? If they do then I have some old stuff to pass on.

Many thanks, I'll give them a try :-)

We do normally donate to the local RSPCA shop but I assumed they wouldn't be interested. If the cat charity suggested above isn't interested I'll have a chat with the girls in Sydenham :-)

if it is fit only for recycling you could take a bag for life carrieror H and M bag into any H and M store for a ?5. voucher. You have to spend 25? in order to redeem this and only two bags at once but worth it when you purchase new bedding or indeed new clothes

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
