kiyoaki
My husband organised for a stylist to come and spend the day with me on Sunday (total surprise). After having our second son a year ago I have been constantly moaning about my wardrobe (never having anything to wear, lots of clothes no actual outfits, i'm rubbish at colour, blah blah) and I think he got so bored of it he arranged for Lucy, a stylist, to come and sort it out once and for all. Lucy turned up at 8.45am and we went through my wardrobe together. We went through every item and she advised me on what colours and styles suit me. We threw out at least half of my wardrobe (all the usual whim/panic buys included) and then she drove me in to town to go shopping to buy items of clothing that would match the items left (vests and t-shirts in the right colours, jacket and shoes to go with all my dresses etc etc). She then drove me home and took me through some outfits. She offered to go through some hair and make up tips but I was totally shopped out and ready to collapse with a take away!Anyway I thought I'd post on here as it was so much fun and so useful. She charges ?500 for a full day which is pricey but then worked to our shopping budget. She took me to Gap, Zara and Selfridges (so no pricey designers) and I came away with so SO many pieces and now have a whole new wardrobe. She told me she spends 3 whole days a week shopping and this made it so easy and efficient - she knew exactly where we were going, what she was looking for, and where it was in each shop. Amazing. Keen to pass on her details if anyone is interested! I wouldn't hesitate to use her again for advice on an outfit, having my make up done or something. ladywotlunches
Ooh - what a lovely surprise. As well as the stylist, can you recommend where I can find a husband like that? ;-)I have a friend who does the same thing, also based in South London. She'll also break things up to just do the wardrobe revamp, or the personal shopping etc. Feel I'd be a bad friend if I didn't add her details to this mix, so her website is FeronClarkStyle.com Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18667-stylist-recommendation-great-for-new-mums/#findComment-458390 Share on other sites

Fiona A
What a fantastic surprise. I am insanely jealous. My friend Sally, [email protected], is also a personal stylist. She went through my wardrobe, worked out what suited me and took me on an outing into town where we bought a whole, new, fabulous wardrobe. I'm not sure how much she charges but it won't be near to ?500, it will be a lot less. A number of people have commented on my new outfits. I think the best comment I got was 'when I first met you you weren't this glamorous!' I was in a new dress Sally had recommended me.This is the best present any husband can buy especially after having a baby.
