sociable cycle ride Easter Saturday -- early start

Recommended Posts

This is one of the Plus rides which start at 9.30am and finish at 1pm. The aim is to go further and explore more of London's safe backstreets and parks.

It starts and finishes Park Life Cafe, Burgess Park, Chumleigh Gdns, off Albany Rd, SE5 0RJ. This is the one by the children's playground. It's the usual template easy and quiet route of about 16 miles. The plan is to ride up to central London and tour points of interest and the new cycling infrastructure.

Precise route still being worked on, Werner's the ride leader and he will be finalising it on Friday.... I will try and post more details here (if and when I get them).

These rides are organised by Bruce Lynn on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which is a membership run charity which campaigns for safer, fun cycling in London. Everything we do is free. Anyone may join in. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. I think that is the only rule.

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
