Recommendation - Smile Moves

Recommended Posts

I want to give a recommendation for Smile Moves after the experience I had with them. They moved the contents of our property (5 bed house) from Glengarry Road, SE22 to storage in Deptford, SE8. Below is the review I posted for them that I wanted to share here too...

I chose Smile Moves as they were local and came highly recommended. I was not disappointed. Simon and his team were prompt and professional when quoting and even offered advice on the size of storage unit I would need. They offered a reasonable price for the service we wanted, moving out of a 5 bedroom house into storage. As is often the case with property sales we had complications with exchange and Simon was very understanding when we had to reschedule our move to another day. On the day itself they took care to make sure all my furniture was suitably protected and they carefully packed everything into their van for transit. I have been working in property for a number of years and have undertaken a number of similar moves with other reputable companies. Simon and his team were better than any of the others we have used. They took extra care when moving furniture to make sure there weren't any knocks, scuffs or scratches on the walls and skirting as you often get when doing a move. Everything was well protected and handled with care. They managed to fit everything into a very small storage unit without needing to cram things in and pile things precariously as I have seen in the past. Overall the best move experience I have ever had and I am certain to use them again.

    • Large supermarkets, the big shop, not relying on mum getting the bus into town, longer opening hours, end of price controls and other restrictions.  All affected the high street well before the internet.   Rye Lane is still pretty buzzy.  Loads of independent shops.  Modern life is not always rubbish
    • Don't know about Lordship Lane, but Rye Lane 50 years ago would be four deep on the pavement on a Saturday, not no more then.  Amazon and the supermarket home delivery services have one heck of a lot to answer for. Stop using them, get back to the shops before the choice becomes so limited. In fact, do one thing, ditch using Amazon.
    • Adding a recommendation for Andy, who just did a job for us hanging heavy mirrors and pictures in our house. He gave a clear and fair price, works very tidily, made sure that I was happy with the work and placement of the pictures and is very pleasant to have around.
    • In what sense? Be more specific  (and I have worked in retail and hospitality)  nothing I said is in any way anti-retail as far as I can see  Out of interest and for comparison, which country do you think gets it right to a significant degree?
