I've been using the ergo with newborn insert for q few days now but have run into a bit of a pickle. Whenever I have it on, although all the straps are as tight as they'll go, the straps still gape and slide down my shoulders.

What am I doing wrong?! Answers on a postcard please... Or in this thread (life when Husband goes back to work depends on the Ergo, am crap With my moby wrap and small small baby.

I know the clip you mean - it's done up and done up tight! Argh, damn my weird posture and body!

SB: thanks for the offer! I'm going to have a good look at the ergo tomorrow and see if I can do a bit of problem solving. If I still can't work out what I'm doing wrong (ergo wise, not parenting wise, that's another thread...) then I'd love to borrow it! Lex loves being worn, which ia fine but not great when all you want is a shower. Ha!

Hmm, have you got the straps high enough? If reaching to do up yourself I'd think you must have, but guessing you may still have hubby at home & helping you?

This really shouldn't be happening so it sounds like something isn't right. Hard to say without seeing you in it though.

Hey I used to have a similar problem, usually after hubbie had used the ergo and loosened all the straps...you've probably done this, but perhaps try sliding the back straps up higher (the ones with the clasp), or tighten the underarm straps as far as possible.

Know what you mean about showers, and also when they fall asleep on you when you haven't gotten dressed yet and screamy toddler needs a trip to the park...

Happy to help in person if you don't know any other ergo-users!

All best x

    • Seems to be back on now although pressure reduced especially for hot water via boiler. Hopefully I can have a shower in the morning.
    • It’s far too hot. Dogs should not be out and you’re right to post this.
    • Agree that you have to be so careful dogs in this heat… but please dont judge so quickly.  Its one thing if you see a dog at midday being thrown the ball endlessly, but if you see a dog en route / somewhere - You dont know if that dog was being walked to the vet for an emergency appointment.. or taken to a friend’s house that is cooler etc.  And if they live in a flat, they might desperately need to be taken out for a quick pee / poo !
    • I know,  absolutely crazy.  A dog has never died because it didn't have a walk, but dogs do die if walked in this heat. Perhaps the owners should put on a thick fur coat, take their shoes off and jog round the pavements, and see how that feels! 🤬
