A story on new developments given flashy American names, like the Tribeca next to the Crystal palce road - Goose Green gym, in an attempt to lure international money laund, ehm, investors. I hope I can quote half a sentence without infringing copyright:

"

these homes aren?t for the people who live in these places. No kid from Camberwell or Peckham or Brockley is going to mistake Goose Green for Washington Square Park. Neither are they going to fail to notice the flats in The Tribeca cost about 20 per cent more than what Zoopla says is the going rate for their postcode.

A story on how more and more homeowners are extending rather than selling and moving, and which mentions ED as the UK's location where homeowners are most likely to consider an extension

The second story seems unreliable hot hair, as 'likely to consider' doesn't mean much, plus it was all based on a survey by an online architecture service, which residents of the Royal Borough and other super prime areas are maybe less likely to use anyway.

The first one is IMHO more interesting.

    • "In Southwark, you can recycle plastic plant pots at home in your main recycling bin, provided they are not black, as black plastic is often not detected by recycling machinery. Clean, rigid plastic pots (tubs/trays) are accepted, but soft plastic pots should be taken to a local supermarket drop-off point" B&Q take as well https://www.diy.com/responsible-business/community/community-re-use (I've just found much of this out) Or you can make little men
    • Can they be recycled? I didn't know that. I've tried to give them away in the past. One community garden took a load one year, but I haven't had much luck otherwise. People are probably trying to get rid of their own 🤣 I don't know why nurseries don't use biodegradable pots, but I suppose it's because they would biodegrade before the plant reached the plant centre/retailer and then the gardener at the end of the chain.
    • I'm surprised no one has commented yet on the Rolls Royce phantom that was parked on the same side of the road, just a few yards away (not kidding). Lordship is the true millionaires' mile.
