In many places it's the businesses of the area who pay for Christmas lights. (That was the sound of LL businesses falling to the ground in a faint at the suggestion) The Christmas tree in Dulwich Square was paid for by a crowdfunder -
To be fair, the lights we used to have in Lordship Lane were dreadful. They were actively depressing, which isn't a good look for Christmas lights. -

You'd think with all that parking fee surplus swishing around they could afford to do something? I see Vanity Square has its Christmas tree and lights already. We have always had lights in the past. Perhaps Cllr McAsh is against such things? -
