Hi Families!

The South London Arts Club is running an amazing art course for 9-13 year olds.

If you have an ambitious child/teen that is bursting with art enthusiasm and really wants to learn expert skills that they are not learning in school or at home. This is the time and place! They will learn skills here that most GCSE and A-Level students have little knowledge of!

Its not your ordinary art club; you will learn exciting art skills from an experienced artist and technician, cutting-edge techniques that professional artists use! You will learn to make art in the style of contemporary, well-known artists.

Every week you will be learning a new art technique;

*Learn how to screen-print like the amazing Eduardo Paolozzi!

*Create a wonderfully crafted ceramic pot in the style of Betty Woodman.

*Hone your drawing skills and learn how to mono-print inspired by the animator William Kentridge and Eadweard

Muybridge, producing your very own BookArt.

*We will create a collaborative banner inspired by the Legendary photo-montage artist Hannah Hoch.

*Learn how to spray-paint following in the footsteps of Iconic street artist, Thierry Noir.

    • Really interesting discussion here. It's difficult to respect the views of people who support Farage, Trump, Musk etc. Why should we, when their views are deplorable. But then that exact 'deplorable' label, as we know, is counterproductive and drives people to double down / switch off to more progressive views. How do you actually help change minds? We're currently spiralling into dark places culturally and politically imo. The amount of open racism, even amongst front line politicians here and in the US is astounding to me. Feels like we're going backwards. The influence of social media and the tech billionaires / bros, is a powerful and largely malignant one. There was an enlightening (and frightening) bit of journalism by Sky this week about Musk's influence on British politics. He has a strange obsession with the UK and London in particular (as do many on the US right wing): https://news.sky.com/story/the-x-effect-how-elon-musk-is-boosting-the-british-right-13464487
    • Looking for any tickets to the Dulwich Hamlets game against St Albans today!
    • I'm going to Paris with friends, staying in the 3rd arrondissement. I used to go a lot but that was ages ago so wondered if anyone has any 'insider tips'? We are interested in small art galleries, independent shops, good value cafes and restaurants that may not feature in all the many online articles or guides, thanks!
    • Hi, My two years old nephew is a complete bookworm and we are looking for more books for him. Is anyone selling or giving away any books please?    Thank you.
