Otta accused me of making up the facts surrounding the Suarez case. I've always maintained that Evra:

- conducted himself with dignity

- had witness statements from his team mates

- had video footage to support his case

- himself was a victim of racist behaviour

None of which you could have actually known.

Anyway, I suspect Liverpool will appeal. The statement basically says that it is very subjective, and down to the opinion of the panel. Suarez never denied saying what he said, it is all about his intention, and whether intention matters within the rules. All very hazy.

The report states that, after being tackled by the Uruguayan, Evra asked Suarez why he had kicked him, to which the forward replied in Spanish: "Because you are black."

When Evra challenged him to repeat the answer and said he would "punch him", Suarez said: "I don't speak to blacks."

IF that is true though, then he is a cunt.

After he was fouled by Suarez the next incident was on the goal line when Evra admitted to saying to Suarez that his sister was a c**t (in Spanish). Hardly dignified.

> - had witness statements from his team mates

The statements only reflected that it was obvious Evra was upset not that anyone else heard what was going on

> - had video footage to support his case

This footage was interpreted by the panel. It wasn't definitive.

How has this anything to do with this particular case?

I'm not defending Suarez. He is guilty as charged. But your stance is based on nothing more than conjecture unless you had access to the report before everyone else, you were just guessing.

Apart from Suarez, I think LFC and in particular Kuyt come out of this really badly.

Okay AM, I think I understand your game plan. I'm sorry if you don't have the same level of skill in analysing matters. I've been doing this type of analysing for such a long period of time and get them right all of the time. Guessing is for people like what Otta and you do. You wouldn't catch me on this forum asking for advice like buying an electric shaver or how to transfer data from a hard drive. That's because I'm capable in thinking for myself and able to carry out basic research. I don't like commercial music. I refuse to buy products based on brands as brands means absolutely nothing to me.

It's up to you whether you want to keep up with your game plan. But in my experience people like yourself tend to fizzle out in time. I won't be changing for sure.

Do you reckon it was word from the top that made them come out and support him then? I'd assumed it was just the team sticking together rather than an order. I could be wrong though.

UDT, it must be lovely having an ego like yours. You're certainly not short of self belief, that's for sure.

Suarez hasn't covered himself in glory here but then nor has Dalglish and Liverpool. Can't see on what basis Liverpool can appeal.

Nice see that nasty little mercenary get subbed after another anonymous performance. I bet Citeh are glad they managed to lever him away from the Arsenal.

I do reckon. Yes. It would be quite a coincidence if they all independently decided to go out and have the same t shirt made up.

I was doing a bit of talent spotting on the Chelsea bench and came across Eva Carneiro, their hot Doctor. Makes me wonder why Chelsea haven't performed well this season due to their growing injury list.

UDT.

You do live by yourself, don't you ?

Anyway you make me laugh & that's a good thing.

Thierry Henry back at Arsenal makes me laugh ( nervously ) too.

Mind you PSG are paying David Beckham 160k a week to pull on their shirt, so it looks like a good year for the oldies, thus far.

NETTE:)(tu)

Extracts from the Suarez Evra case are Here if you can be arsed to sift through it.

Having read it, I'm struggling to find the inconsistencies in Suarez's evidence. The more I read it the more it looks like a playground squabble. Yes Suarez uses the word negro, Evra calls him a South American and makes reference to his sisters pussy. Nice. Grow up the pair of you.

The FA said they found Suarez guilty because of unreliable evidence, but the whole thing seems to boil down to: he said this, yeah but he said that. I can see no real reason why they've doubted Suarez's account over Evra's.

    • At it's peak I recall 16 Furkin pubs, all brewing their own.    The first pub was the Goose, followed by the Ferret, the wonderful Pheonix, Fox and one other, not necessarily in that order, when I discovered them. I did all 16 on public transport in one day with a group many years ago, if Guinness had a record this would be one, as everyone else would hire a minibus. Reverting to Wiki, it maxed out with 19 home brew pubs, and many more not brewing before the end: chain was established in 1979 by David Bruce as Bruce's Brewery, the Firkin Brewery grew as a chain of mostly brewpubs offering cask ale. It was acquired by Midsummer Leisure in 1988, Stakis Leisure in 1990 and then by Allied Domecq in 1991; by 1995 the chain had 44 pubs, 19 of which brewed beer on site.[1] In 1999, Punch Taverns bought the entire chain and the rights to the Firkin brand,[2] and then sold 110 of the pubs to Bass, leaving 60 Firkin pubs under Punch ownership.[3] The brewery side of the chain was wound up, and in March 2001 Punch announced that the Firkin brand was to be discontinued.[4]
    • Hello! I’m looking to collect some pallets and MDF boards from anyone in the area who has some and no longer needs them?   It would also be a huge bonus if anyone has a PA sound system I could rent/borrow/buy off them.   Thank you in advance!
    • That was the best "pound shop", a great selection of products, sadly it and the chain went to the wall as they say.
    • I used to enjoy the 50p shop in Liverpool, it merged with it's sister pound shop in 1999 https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newsliverpool/lost-liverpool-shop-never-charged-more-than-50p-for-anything/ar-AA1rB1Z6 According to BoE inflation calculator it would be the £1.60 shop if still around now, although based on the increase in a pint of beer more like the £4 shop, or the reliable mars bar inflation indicator about £3. That of course is the issue with the premise that everything will remain at a certain price.  There were three pound stores in Peckham, one had a strange strap line that many products were a pound or less, so many were over a quid (pre Covid days).
