John, Manchester's finest, producing some fancy ganache work in the final bake-off to pip Brendan the Softy Southerner.

''I'm over the moon'' said a delighted John. Predictably Brendan was ''gutted'' and quickly blamed a bad egg timer.

James, a distant third, headed home in true Scottish fashion with his tail well and truly between his legs...

Serbia need to be shown the door by Fifa and UEFA. They have a disgraceful track record as far as racism is concerned and last nights performance by Serbian fans, players and officials was sub human. Grow a pair Fifa and Uefa and boot them out of competions for at least a year. Well done norn iron for making multi millionaire and sour puss Ronaldo "unhappy", tool. At least they had a go unlike the Jocks who were played off the park. Shcoking.

ProPlus and sleeping tablets aside, another insipid and disjointed performance from Team England.

What gets me, is that in the post-match TV interview, Roy said that the pitch wasn't conducive to possession football, instead suiting the long ball game. If that's the case Roy, why didn't you play a team that included Carroll and wingers?..

I heard that call. Someone in the studio reckoned that the clubs could substantially lower tickets prices from the extra revenue they will receive next season from the new Sky deal, but we all know they won't. Fans go on about overpaid prima donnas, but to me the buck stops with the clubs, they control what the players earn, not the players...

      So when will we find out? Is it going to be a big reveal on some specified day? If not, why can't you tell us now?! (I'm presuming you mean the new boss of Franklins. It would be too much to hope for that the Palmerston had a miraculous return to one of its better past incarnations. Never mind the food, they could bring back the lovely quirky painted column things of over twenty (?) years ago, and remove the hideous "art" that has sadly been installed. I feel really sorry for the staff, because it can't be just my partner and I who rarely go there any more. I suppose the only hope is that it does so badly that it changes hands again and that the new hands have better taste. Sorry, all off topic.)

      Bumpkin I’d say feed and clean.    The RSPB say garden birds are low risk for avian flu but take precautions and clean feeders and birdbaths regularly.    Birds will be starting to nest soon and food you put out can at least feed the parents so they can feed live food to the young who can’t take seed yet.    It’s reccomended to wear gloves and clean feeders/birdbaths with mild disinfectant weekly.
