I just wondered if anyone has any first hand experience of Hirschsprung's Disease?

We've read a lot of the the Google articles but I am interested to hear from anyone who has actually had the pull through procedure carried out on their baby and just how successful the outcome was.

Thanks

Hello,

My name is Nicole Murphy and I have a group on FB called the "Hirschsprung's Disease Help Group." My icon is the one with the child holding the teddy bear. I am also the author of the book ?Hirschsprung?s Disease ? Solving the Puzzle.? Which also has a FB page. It has proven to be an invaluable resource for parents caring for children with Hirschsprung?s disease. My son Kellen was born with HD in 2003 and suffered multiple bouts of enterocolitis after his pull through operation.

You can read our story on my website: http://www.hirschsprungsdiseasehelp.org/

I am currently offering FREE SHIPPING on the book anywhere in the US. Shipping elsewhere is around $15.00 as I do ship overseas.

I am so excited about the new group and we have super helpful parents with lots of knowledge! I hope you will find some answers to your questions if you choose to join.

Sincerely,

Nicole Murphy

Hi Nicole,

Wow thanks for all this information. I hadn't anticipated I'd get a response from someone who'd actually written a book about HD!

I had already joined the FB page and found many of the postings really interesting and informative. I will definitely be getting hold of a copy of your book.

Thanks again

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
