Cup & saucer plants + vintage apple crates planted with salad from ?1.50

Recommended Posts

Edited to add some more plants...

1. Cobaea scandens 'purple' (cup and saucer plants) - ?1.50 each - 3 left

Fabulous exotic looking sun-loving climber. The vines, once they get going, will rocket away over pergolas, walls and fences. The flowers/bracts are fab, the tendrils the plant uses to climb are cool and in a really mild winter the plant may live to see another year.

Easy to grow.

2. Chickpeas - GONE

We've run out of allotment space so if you want to grow home-grown chickpeas a try now's your chance. The seedlings can be planted 6 inches apart so won't take up a lot of ground space.

3. Padron pepper plants - ?1.50 each - GONE

Pimientos de Padron are the Spanish peppers that appear on tapas menus (fried in olive oil and served with salt flakes).

I reckon 5 plants will keep you in a good supply of peppers over the summer.

4. Vintage apple crates planted with salad - ?25-30 each

Reluctantly having to sell these on. Collection this weekend preferred! I have 3 apple crates planted up with mixed salad. Two crates are about 2 weeks ahead of the rest so priced at ?30. The one that's more youthful is ?25 - in time it will look as lush as the maturer boxes (if you keep it watered!).

Each crate and planting is different. However, you can expect to find mixed lettuce, mizuna, pak choi, pea shoots, radishes, mustard etc. I've planted it up so there's a bit of a succession of different things going on.

Great for small gardens or balconies. These crates are heavy so you will need to a car to pick up. They would be happy in a semi-shady spot rather than in full sun.

I'll throw in a little bag of mixed seeds so you can keep topping the salad box up over the summer if that's something you want to do.

Collection Forest Hill. Weekends and evenings preferred.
