Arborealist
At around 4am today my boyfriend had just got off the N63 at the Dunstan's Rd bus stop and was walking on Overhill Road towards our flat. He thinks he startled a youth on a moped trying to break into a car. The youth aggressively drove up to him shouting abuse. He then pulled what my boyfriend thinks was a hammer from the moped and started chasing him, driving on the pavement, along Overhill Road. He was forced to run and had to hide in someone's garden until the guy had accepted he couldn't find him and drove off. He then carried on to our flat and got in OK. Not trying to scare people with this story but just sharing information that might help others avoid being in a similar situation. singalto
How awful! Poor him. What did the police have to say? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/193740-thug-on-moped/#findComment-1251448 Share on other sites

Arborealist
He reported the crime online. The form said the police will get in touch only if they need more info or if they plan to investigate the crime scene. James Barber
Something like this should be a 999 call not filling in a form. Did he try 999 and not get a fast response? rcmacf
From my experience a 999 call for this would have an immediate response - it costs nothing and does not waste police time. You may be surprised both by how good (as well as bad) the police can be. They do want to nail these feckers, but they are stretched so thin these days.
