Just found out that my daughter needs to wear Heber uniform when she starts at their nursery on Tuesday. I had no idea! I can get the logo sweatshirt from the school (although they don't have any stock in her size currently) but the rest can be generic - grey skirts, grey dresses, white polo shirt.

5 afternoons a week - can anyone suggest how many I should get, how much messy play I wonder? And where's the best place to go tomorrow - Tescos? Didn't think to ask about shoes - surely they can't be particularly fussy about colour at nursery (although her light-flashing american Sketchers probably wouldn't be appropriate..) her Clarks are red.

Thanks as always

Hi, I was there too this afternoon with my son who is also starting Tuesday! I'd probably try sainsburys or tesco's or the asda on the old kent road which sells uniforms. Failing that Next do uniforms and deliver next day. Polo shirts come in packs of 3, perhaps 2 or 3 skirts? They dont need to wear school shoes, trainers or whatever they would normally wear is fine.

Hope that helps x

Sainsburys East Dulwich have a good selection of basic uniforms - my daughter starts Goodrich nursery in a week or so and I've kitted her out from there. How much you need depends on the child, my son generally went through 2 changes a week (always got changed out of his uniform after school), but isn't terribly partial to messy play!

Normal shoes should be fine - although I succumbed to cute little black shoes last week and got some for my daughter.

I hope she enjoys it x

Hi! my daughter was the one who kept going to the loo, was yours the boy playing with all the Thomas the tank engines that I was talking to? Sainsburys - didn't think of them, bit nearer so will go there tomorrow, thanks!

Ahh they're all growing up.. best of luck to all the little-uns x

Hi damzel, my little boy ben was playing with the train's for a bit but was also on the computer, and playing outside a bit - he had the superman t shirt on! He is so excited about starting....helps as his older brother is in the school already. They will look very cute in their uniforms on tuesday!

Well I picked up a couple of skirts, a dress and a 2 polo shirts (they only had 2 left for a 3yr old so will have to find some elsewhere) but I can't help feeling a little sad that she has to wear a uniform 5 days a week already. I can't even just put it on for the 3 hrs she's there really as she is with the CM for the morning. Which I've suddenly realised means even more spare clothes are going to be needed.. oh dear

My partner thinks it's great as he loved wearing a school uniform, he said it made him feel he "belonged". I always hated mine. I know it's silly but it was such a shock that she'd have to wear one so young. Does anyone else feel like this?

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.

    • I don't think a single all-inclusive URL is easily doable.  When you enter a search the system presents the result without any of one's search parameters added to the URL.  So I suggest you go to https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do?action=advanced where you just need to enter the address -- use SE22 8EW -- and the  Date Received start date.  I used 1/1/2025.  The three Tesco applications, all minor things, were all made in May.  The Simple search that I'd done previously had no time limit, and didn't include anything else that might have been from Tesco in the last two years. Incidentally, when I searched on the address 29-35 Lordship Lane it did not pick up the Tesco applications, which were held as 29 - 35 Lordship Lane Grrr!
