Descending on the iconic Herne Hill Velodrome for June 2018, the World Cycling Revival will bring a weekend of vintage festivities in what is billed as 'the greatest celebration of the bicycle the world has ever seen'.

Hosted at the Herne Hill Velodrome - home of the 1948 'austerity' Olympic Games - the weekend will see a full programme of racing including a Japanese Keirin competition as well as a Brompton invitational race and even former Hour Record holder Graeme Obree returning to the track.

The Revival will celebrate the 200th birthday of the bicycle and will certainly be one of the most inclusive and interesting cycling events this Summer.

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property
    • I didn't say wedge it "slightly" open. I meant to wedge it fully open.
    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
