Lynne
Just a reminder to anyone who parks on Lacon road to be careful of the dropped kerb under the tree near the junction with Crawthew. The double yellow lines stop just before the dropped kerb and so many many people are caught out, thinking they're OK to park. My personal record is seeing 4 different cars ticketed on the same day. Southwark must be earning a fortune from it and the set up of the yellow lines makes it look deliberate. Alright, everyone should know not to park over a dropped kerb, but having probably driven round and round and round looking for a parking space, it's easy not to notice. uncleglen
You cannot have an inch of your bumper hanging over a dropped kerb or you will get a ticket (usually at 7am!) The council have at least 2 mopeds going around in the mornings checking kerbs and disabled bays in that immediate area. One thing I have noticed since the double yellows have been put in place is that parking is being wasted as people, in their eagerness to have their car door opposite their front door, are wasting 2 or 3 feet of space near the corners....
