Grab those shoes, shirts, tops and trousers gathering dust in your closet and take part in the Peckham and East Dulwich DigniTEA Clothing Swap! There'll be tea, coffee, cakes and clothes, as well as a chance to learn more about the organisation Labour Behind the Label. All are welcome - even if you don't have anything to swap and just fancy a cuppa and a chat!

When?

11 am to 3 pm on Sunday, 9 September 2018

Where?

East Dulwich Tavern, 1 Lordship Ln, East Dulwich, SE22 8EW

Why?

The clothes we wear come from all over the world. But the conditions of those working in the garment industry, 80% of whom are women, are often unsafe and unfair. Labour Behind the Label advocates for better conditions for all workers, everywhere. Find out more at labourbehindthelabel.org.

How do I register?

On the Eventbrite link at https://peckham-ed-dignitea.eventbrite.co.uk/.

How much?

We're suggesting a ?3 donation, an item of clothing, or one advocacy action pledge - but the most important thing is to come along and learn more about how you can make a difference for workers in the garment industry.

Lots of great donations already - we've got a Kate Moss for Topshop sequin dress, gorgeous shoes, a handmade dress...but who knows what will be donated on the day! Make sure you pop along to get ready for your autumn wardrobe, and learn more about how you can support workers in the garment industry.

    • Happy to name agent and do understand that there are procedures to complain. I believe that it starts with a complaint to the estate agent and then you can go to the ombudsman. I am very unhopeful that this will achieve anything as it will be hard to prove what the intention of the agent was.  Also I don't want to name the agent at this stage so as not to open up myself to any legal issues. However it is an agent in the Village whish has many branches across London
    • Naming the agent isn't going to help in this case, this is down to the morals (lack of) of the buyer. I think it's always best, esp in a buyer's market, to keep details such as 'you're keen/ need to sell' to one's self, otherwise you're just giving the buyer leverage to pull a stunt like this...
    • I have tickets for tomorrow.  I'm off to do a rain dance.
    • Please name the agent and the company.  So sorry this happened to you. You could also refuse to pay the commission.
