Loft ladder come unsecured need help!

Loft ladder has come unstuck at the loft end. Dangerous! Need help please if anyone knows a handyman?

Hi there -- a few months back my loft ladder came unhinged at the top in the loft and I had it screwed back down again but it never regained its spring so it falls dramatically and dangerously on my head and is an effort to put back up again! Do I need a new one or can someone fix this??
