Help fixing TV

Hi, this is an odd one and I?m not sure who can help! We have a Samsung TV upstairs which is not connected to Sky (like our one downstairs). It plugs in to an aerial socket. Gradually we have been loosing channels - they go all pixilated and eventually nothing. It started with BBC 1 and then all bbc channels and now itv and various others. We?ve tried trying but it doesn?t pick them up. Can anyone identify what we need to do so we can get the problem fixed please??! Does the aerial on the roof need looking at??

It might sound a bit obvious, but have you tried to retune it?

Yes we?ve tried that. It doesn?t pick up any of the missing channels. In fact when we re tuned, we lost even more channels.
