This morning I noticed that a beautiful crab apple tree near Goodrich Primary School has been, literally, sawn in half. All that remains is half a trunk, the canopy is gone. The tree is one of many malus planted along Goodrich Road, they are beautiful, healthy trees and were in full fruit.

I'm very sad about this and just wanted to know whether anyone who lives near the tree could shed any light on why/how this may have happened?

Thanks
