Hello. We require a reliable, responsible and fun person to provide after school childcare every week day (or at least 4 days) from 3pm-6pm from September 2018, term-time only. We have three boys, aged 11, 9 and 6. Duties will include: collection from school, supervising homework, preparation of meal, drop-off/pick-up from some after school clubs.

This role would suit a local student with an interest in childcare, or perhaps a recently retired teacher or classroom assistant. Pay is ?10 per hour gross.

DBS check not essential for application, but required before starting role. Driving license desirable.

  Trinco is at 20 Lordship Lane, near Goose Green. The building is called Oru Space although I did notice the other day that there is a small neon sign that says Trinco outside though easy to miss. Good for Sri Lankan vegetarian curries, not good if you are after chicken tikka masala-style food that all the other curry restaurants in Lordship Lane serve (edit - sorry Moovart, I've just seen you've also answered this!).

  Don't forget Netflix. A few weeks ago, the US issued a security strategy document warning of Europe's "civilisational erasure" due to immigration. Britain's culture however faces a greater threat from the more subtle influence of American entertainment promoting American values and the American way of life, a kind of "Netflixisation". There are many people who are happy to pay a Netflix subscription but refuse to pay the BBC license fee, so money goes into making more American entertainment while depriving the necessary investment into British programming. I wonder at the timing of the issue of the US demand for Greenland becoming news again and can't help but think it is partly a Trump misdirection of Europe's attention from the dreadful events in Minesota and elsewhere in the US. Putin of course would love it if there was conflict between the US and Europe.
