If a firm sponsors the forum does that count as a sort of recommendation, ie can one trust a firm simply because they are a sponsor?

I doubt it - I think it really just means they can afford to advertise. I'm sure Admin will correct me if I'm wrong, but I would still check for other recommendations before using any of the companies who sponsor the forum.

Being a sponsor does not count as a recommendation, i.e. you cannot trust a firm simply because they are a sponsor.

I have used one of the forum sponsors, and had to ask for a refund, because the quality of work was poor. However I have used another sponsor, who's quality of work was very good, so have recommended them, because of their quality of work, and good trades/businesses should be shouted about.:)-D

I was actually surprised, that the forum did have a sponsor, who was not East Dulwich based. Seemed to have disappeared though.
