Space in nanny share

We have a space for a child to join our lovely nanny share - one day a week (Fridays). They will be with two other 1 year old children - all have been looked after by our lovely nanny, Jaki, since they were 9-12 months old. Jaki has been a nanny for over 25 years, and has grown up children and grandchildren of her own. She is extremely capable and loving, having looked after lots of children during her career, including babies as young as 6 months.

Jaki prepares fresh meals (including soft food for weaning babes) and snacks for the children each day, which they sit to eat at the table together. They have a great routine and all have daily naps for which Jaki sets up travel cots to make them comfortable and cosy. Each day is varied, Jaki takes them out to parks, playgrounds, local farms and soft play. They interact with other children looked after by local nannies and do crafts / play with toys at home. The share is currently based in Peckham Rye.

The hours are 8am-6pm and Jaki picks the children up in the morning and drops them home each evening which is a massive help for working Mums, but if you would prefer to do drop off / pick up, that is fine too. The arrangement is really flexible and all of our individual requirements are considered.

From a personal perspective, I have felt thoroughly comfortable leaving my son in her care and despite the heartache of missing him when I am at work I have never felt worried that he is not being wonderfully cared for and having fun without me! Jaki has a great method for morning excursions, routines and meal times. The food she cooks is always varied and healthy. Her level of experience and maturity as a nanny is very evident. She is also very understanding and flexible with us ... the pick-ups and drop-offs, availability for babysitting and the kind approach to first-time, working parents is invaluable. Very keen not to lose her as my life wouldn't function without her!

Hi Katie,

Are you looking for another child to be with the nanny full time or would you consider some sharing for 2-3 days in a week?

I am looking for someone to look after my daughter (20 months old) when my parents cannot (roughly 6 days a month) Usually Thursdays & Fridays.

Also, how much is your nanny's hourly rate and how much are you looking for a second/ third parent to pay?

Thanks,

Katy

We are one of the families in this share. Jaki is such a brilliant nanny, we are so grateful to have found her - reliable, friendly and always energetic. Our son Victor has been with Jaki 2 days a week since February this year and it's brilliant to know he's being so well looked after and is so happy. They do lots of activities and are outdoors everyday (as long as the weather allows)- he eats, sleeps and plays really well and comes home mentally and physically stimulated each day. Jaki is incredibly caring and you can see that the kids all love her. We highly recommend!

Hi,

Just wanted to reiterate everything Katy and Georgia have said.

We host the share just off Bellenden Road. Our daughter is with Jaki five days a week and absolutley adores her, This has made returning to work so much easier, Jaki is so warm and loving, my daughter's face lights up whenever she sees her, She's such a happy and confident little lady, I'm in no doubt it's because of the love and attention Jaki provides.

Returning to work full time and working long hours comes with its challenges but I couldn't do it without Jaki, I'm always confident my daughter is happy and having a good time, Jaki provides lots of updates throughout the day, which is so lovely to receive,I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

If you want to have a chat, please do get in touch.

    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
    • Have used Milk and More for years. When the price went up we cancelled a couple of pints but we still have 8 pints a week. If we are expecting family etc we buy from Sainsburys to top up. We kept on with M & M as if weather bad we could order extra stuff from them to save us a trip to Sainsburys Local. Also gives employment to our milkman.
    • Hi there, Our Lexus NX300H, (reg RF18BWO) was stolen off our driveway last night, Monday 27th October. It was there at 9pm, and had gone by 7am. If anyone has any footage on their doorbell or Ring, that would be super helpful. We have asked some neighbours and reported to the police etc.  Most upsettingly, there was a box of old family videos in the car boot, in an old Sainsburys box (photo attached). If anyone sees these dumped at the side of the road, please contact me asap! They are priceless videos that my deceased grandparents took. Thank you for any info, Jojo
    • Another shout out for Milk & More - their app allows you to alter the order, add or subtract to it and also to schedule holiday stops without having to leave messages in bottle - so more secure. You do have to set up a direct debit with them, but I haven't had any problems with that myself. I have had one or two missed or late deliveries in several years, but not really a problem - only very occasional and caused mainly by delivery-person illness. And very much feels like an old-fashioned milk delivery. They do special seasonal offers as well. More expensive than the cheapest of the super market milk prices, but for that its at your door, fresh and no bother.
