Meditation and mindfulness are all about slowing the fluctuations of our busy minds, about introducing stillness and silence back into our often hectic, over-stimulated lives.

Anyone can learn how to meditate. However, as with anything, starting out can be really hard. As high achievers, we want instant results, as we equate effort with reward, and so often we decide that meditation (which is all about slowing down, lowering expectations, and ceasing effort) is not for us. However, the health and mental wellbeing benefits of a regular practice are enormous. Learning meditation can also throw up some challenges as we spend more time with our busy minds. A good teacher can work with you to change that and give you the keys to a satisfying and beautiful practice.

Get private coaching and support from Camberwell/Peckham local Ryan Nell, a 200-hour certified meditation teacher (trained by Davidji, international bestselling stress management author and apprentice of both Deepak Chopra and Alan Watts). Ryan comes from a 15-year background working in advertising agencies, and so knows a thing or two about stress.

Ryan will work with you on developing a regular meditation practice, deepening the one you already might have, and working together to find a mantra or style that works best for you. Ryan teaches weekly group classes in his studio, Levitate, on weekdays in the Bussey Building (next to Peckham Rye Station) and otherwise can travel to your home or office to offer private coaching to you and your family.

Group classes are ?10-12 at the studio (?5 for your first class), or Ryan charges ?80 for a private meditation consultation (and ?60 for each follow up) at a place of your choosing. Ryan also teaches wellness and stress management at local south london businesses and co-working spaces for negotiable fees.

Please get in touch to find out more. Namaste!

    • Another recommendation for Niko. Great communication, top guy, and super reliable and skilled - all at a fair price. Takes a lot of care in what he does and talks you through everything.
    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
