Planning on trip to science museum with a gang of 7 year old boys for IMAX etc birthday trip. Bearing in mind they will be hyper and I will be grouchy so need minimal travel time, changes of transport and interaction with the general public, what route would you recommend?

Thanks

We went yesterday. Same journey as Pickle. VERY busy at South Ken tube though - my 4 yr old got a bit freaked so I had to carry her up the stairs in the crush. Other than that she was fine. The museum was however incredibly busy (the rain didn't help as everyone had the same thought) and by the afternoon, it was time to get out. But your boys are older so will have more strength and willpower than my daughter so you should be fine. Have fun.
52 goed from victoria to top of exhibition road. Walk down from there to museum takes 5 mins - avoids the stairs in the tube station if u have a buggy. Tips from someone who works there - go early then head to the things you really want to do - launch pad??? Interactive galleries etc first. heaving usually by late morning. Then do some of the 'quieter' galleries whilst everyone else queues for the more 'popular. Stuff. Cafes busy at lunch time.

    • Why have I got a feeling there was also a connection with the beehive in Brixton on that road next to the gym
    • Ah, thanks,  it all comes flooding back. I've actually been to the Hastings shop, I'd forgotten all about it, along with her name! Didn't she (in between?)  take over what  was then The Magnolia, previously The Magdala, now The Lordship, with her then partner? Or is that some figment of my imagination?  In fact, didn't they transform it from The Magdala (much missed) to The Magnolia? With flowery wallpaper covering the front of the bar? Which reminds me of the pub's brief period after The Magnolia  as the ill-conceived and ill-fated The Patch.

    • A belated recommendation for Iain and Paul od Oddbods who came to help me with various jobs before Christmas.  Painting ceiling, renewing silicone around bath, repairing a window sill which was almost beyond repair and hanging a large mirror.   Very happy with their work and they are friendly and very reliable and excellent at communicating.  No hesitation in recommending them.
