rendelharris
Foolishly selling my lovely Planet X Procarbon - I say foolishly as it?s light, fast, handles beautifully and looks gorgeous, and is more than enough bike for me, but like many a foolish Mamil before me I?ve had my head turned by the lure of carbon wheels and electronic gearing, so sadly this has to go.Bike history: I bought this on eBay in May this year from a guy who?d owned it from new in 2014. He?d ridden it, by his account, around seventy miles and then decided cycling wasn?t for him as it made his back ache (the fact that he was eighteen-odd stone may have had something to do with it). The condition of the bike certainly bore out the truth of this, it was in absolute showroom condition and as I love looking after my bikes it?s pretty much remained that way; according to Strava since I?ve owned it I?ve ridden it 1700 miles and only about ten of them have been in the rain - if it?s raining I take my mountain bike or use my turbo trainer. This bike was ?1100 new (the previous owner did give me the receipt but I?ve unfortunately lost it) and has been upgraded with a carbon SLK seatpost (?40) and Ultegra wheels (?350 new). It?s a brilliant trainer, racer, fast commuter or tri bike. Please see attached picture for condition, happy to email more on request.Spec as follows:Frame & fork: Planet X Procarbon (full carbon)Groupset: SRAM Apex (all new cables 500 miles ago, Shimano SIS with lithium grease). Chainset 50/34, so with 11-32 rear cassette can climb anything!Seatpost: SLK carbonCassette: Shimano Ultegra (approx 500 miles)Chain: KMC (approx 500 miles)Wheels: Shimano Ultegra (hubs and rims). Tubeless ready (though running with tubes at present). Can?t say the mileage on these as got them in a deal with another bike, I do know they are absolutely true (serviced 250 miles ago), with plenty of life left in the brake track and the hubs are silky smooth, these run beautifully.Tyres: Front Continental Ultra Sport, approx 600 miles old. Rear Continental Gransport Race, approx 200 miles old.Saddle: Charge Spoon, brand new (moved my saddle over to new bike)Pedals: Shimano SPD MT540 - I have an almost new pair of Northwave MTB/commuter shoes that fit these that I bought on eBay but were too small - if new buyer is size 42 (EU) happy to throw these in free of charge.Extras: Two matching Planet X bottle cages Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/202643-planet-x-procarbon-roadbike-now-sold-thanks/ Share on other sites
rendelharris
Sorry, foolishly omitted the size. It's size L, which approximates to about a 56cm frame size. I'm 5'11" with a 31" inside leg and it's just about perfect for me; Planet X website suggests this would suit anyone between 5'10" and 6'2", which I think is pretty much right. I do have a shorter (80mm) stem I can put on in place of the current 110mm if that would make a better fit. rendelharris
Price dropped to reflect costs I would incur if taking to eBay.
