Are you a woman between 21-28 weeks pregnant and have experienced repetitive negative thoughts or worry?

Hi East Dulwich parents-to-be!

We are a small research team based at the King?s College campus in Denmark Hill, and we want to hear from women who are between 21 and 28 weeks pregnant, who find themselves worrying about the future, or mulling over past events, to help us with some new research into understanding anxiety and low mood in pregnancy.

When conducting research, it is important for us understand the needs and experiences of those who are going to participate. We are currently designing a research project, and would like to invite pregnant women in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy for an informal chat to:

? Share their views and experiences

? Offer their advice on materials, such as questions or scenarios, that will be used in our upcoming research

? Help us ensure that the study is conducted in a respectful and comfortable manner for future participants

The chat will take no more than an hour of your time, and will be very casual. It will be based in the Henry Wellcome building of the King?s College campus, Denmark Hill (less than 10 minutes on the bus from East Dulwich). All those who participate will be compensated ?15, plus travel expenses, for their time.

All the information will be kept anonymous and will not be seen by any persons outside of the research team. No personal information will be recorded or kept on file.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information, please get in touch via my email:

Thanks to all those who have responded so far! Just to let you know that our criteria has changed slightly, so we are now hoping to speak with women who are 21-28 weeks pregnant, experiencing their first pregnancy, who experience frequent repetitive negative thinking habits such as worry or rumination.

Anybody interested please do get in touch. I have updated the main post accordingly

  • 2 weeks later...

Thank you to all those who have responded and come in for a meeting so far, it has been very insightful! We are still looking for a few more people to meet with, so anyone who is interested please do get in touch. We have plenty of availability next week, so we can accommodate you whenever is convenient.

Best,

Calum

    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
    • Hey, I am interested. I had started a club last year however everyone slowly dropped off but I am always up for morning runs and some evening runs too.
