My 8 month old baby has a temp (not too drastic I don't think, 38.8) and is pretty hot to the touch. Plus sneezing, lots of mucus etc, so think just a heavy cold coming on. Am I right in thinking that I should have her in less covers tonight, i.e not a 2.5 grobag but maybe 1.5?

thanks in advance for advice..

p.s Re: the post from the GP about getting medical advice on the forum, I would of course take her to doc if symptoms worsen or her temp increases, am just wanting to check what others do about bedding when their babies have temps..x

If it's a low fever and you're just going to let it run its course, then I would use a a lower tog bag to help keep baby comfortable. Then you can alwasy add an extra blanket later if you think she needs one.

If you're going to give paracetamol or iprofen to reduce the fever, then check Baby's temp before bed. If it's down to normal, just put her in the same sleeping bag/blankets as always. xx

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
