On the evening of Friday 9th and all day and into the night on Saturday 10th December, Kirkdale businesses transform into DIY performance spaces, empty shops magic into Christmas pop-ups, and Kirkdale pubs and restaurants sparkle with everything local community.

Do you have a skill, interest or an activity you would like to share with the Kirkdale community? Here is your chance! Deadline is 18th November, so don't delay...

It can be anything you like, and we are also encouraging people to run taster classes in something they might like to offer as longer sessions in the future.

These sessions are just 45 minutes long each, so won?t take a huge amount of planning. If you really want to run an event but aren?t feeling confident doing something like this for the first time ? talk to us! We can probably guide you through it.

At the moment we aren't considering market stalls, simply because we are focusing on the workshop/performance aspect, but by all means tell us of your interest in one, and we will keep you informed!

It's looking really good so far: we've got a bhangra DJ, a steel band, massage, yoga, poetry workshop (write a poem about the pop-up - very 'Saturday Live' dahlings), singing, drumming, a potential Austrian Big Breakfast, a fashion show, kids activities and more. And there is still room for even more! Kirkdale is going to be the place to be - and it's just a stone's throw from LL!

    • Most of the groceries shops in Lordship Lane have a security presence…curious thing is I and another woman recently saw a shop lifter lift and not pay for a couple of packet of steaks, veg and bottle of wine..  Literally walked Pat the tills, one member of staff and security guard despite someone else going in front by a few people and mentioning person in question! I have to say, speechless and admired their bravado - I would not have the guts and knowing my luck, if I accidentally didn’t put something tru the till despite receipt would prob get stopped! Yes, worked with families, homeless and other people who were struggling for food so I do understand why they do it.. sad when you think about it, that in this day and age, all sorts of c people need assistance and help from community in general, food banks, olio etc….
    • Just not keen to have all these  things  in my body… having said  that, thinking about Covid again as need to come to London to two hospitals for poss overnight stays.
    • And another one, number 6, has just gone passed as well!  I presume that the LTNs are blocking them from a more useful route. Or the surrounding road works.
    • Yes, I saw an incident van too, earlier, around 3.30 - never seen one before. It did look as if it was on its way to something major.
