UPS - Do not use them!

Small business sabotage post - UPS - NEVER AGAIN! Five bespoke wooden boxes sent to a client via UPS. Part of an event launch. Sent via UPS. I didn't want issues. Boy, was I wrong. Out of five sent only two survived the journey. Look at the state of them: 1)The wood looks like it's had a bullet through it 2) the boxes were unhinged 3) the outer box is almost destroyed with bullet wounds! I have had six weeks of raising this issue with UPS and at the end of the week got a final letter from them saying no compensation will be made: 'UPS must decline any liability on this occasion as the internal cushioning used in this instance was deemed to be inadequate to absorb any impact, shock or vibration during transit'. And that's it. As a small business this incident meant I had to commission three new boxes to be created, in an extremely tight timeframe. Why do these big global organisations get away with this level of service yet the smaller business (i.e me) would NEVER commit such a crime... Please share as you wish and DO NOT use them!!

My sister sent her son?s DJ, dress shirt and special cuff links via UPS. She even took out the insurance that was available. The stuff never arrived and my sister was told she?d only get compensation if she produced receipts for all the lost items. She didn?t have them and the cuff links had been an 18th birthday present from my nephew?s Godfather. UPS blamed my sister for the loss and she didn?t get a penny or an apology.

To prove what amount of compensation they had to pay?

But then how could she prove it was those items actually in the parcel in the first place?!

If no receipts, wouldn't a bank statement do if they were bought on a card?

    • Because the previous Libdem/Tory coalition council did so much better? ....Oh wait. Selling off the Heygate at a bargain price and reducing the number of council homes it replaced? Being in opposition is so much easier isn't it James.  The point on allowances etc is a valid one, and that is about finding the right balance between the responsibility of those cabinet roles and the role of service that should underpin all political aspirations in an ideal world. Holding down a full time job, while having to attend meetings and then deal with case work on top, is a huge ask imo. People in key roles need to have the time needed to do those roles effectively, so some renumeration makes sense. It's just a question of where the balance should be. McAsh has walked away from that, so his convictions are doing more talking than careerism arguably.  Worth pointing out that most MPs started out as party/ political activists/ campaigners on a local level. Different parties have different processes for selecting candidates, but everyone starts out at a low level.

    • Cleaning in East Dulwich and the surrounding areas for well over a decade, we've worked hard to always provide great cleaning and reliable cleaners. We pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality cleaning service and making sure the cleaners turn up when you need and want them to. Our growth has mainly been by recommendations on the Forum, local Facebook pages and clients recommending us to their neighbours on street WhatsApp groups. We know it can be hard to trust someone to come into your home, many times when you're not there, so we only use cleaners that we know and have been checked, trained and are happy to be supervised by us. Accidents can happen so we're fully insured to cover any and all situations that may arise. On top of cleaning we can do additional tasks such as managing washing, ironing, bed changes and oven cleans. Plus working with local partners we can arrange window cleaning and carpet cleans for you. So if you want to come home to a clean and tidy place, with the floors cleaned, surfaces dusted, cobwebs removed, dishes washed, cushions plumped, clothes folded, beds made, and the bathroom gleaming, get in touch today! • Hardly! The awning is half hanging off and it looks like it's about to collapse between the two upstairs windows. Looks awful and it's not clear there is construction "going on" there now.
