I thought I'd take advantage of this thread to ask if anybody could recommend a good place for 3 birds roast. It's my first Xmas in the UK and I'd like to try something traditional. I've asked the butcher in front of the Plough but he doesn't want to put any stuffing in it because he says there is not enough space for stuffing but when I look on the internet there is sausage meat between the layers and stuffing inside (apple & apricot, cranberry etc). What do you reckon? Thanks

I saw such a thing in William Rose

( stuffed and unstuffed )

About ?40-50 odd I think.

Some butchers are concerned that stuffing makes the bird harder to cook/easier to poison you.

Do buy a cheap-ish digital meat thermometer, to make sure the internal temp gets to 75+ degrees.

I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.

If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
