damzel
BB100 thanks. I hadn't even thought of space issues and around here it's obviously very relevant. As for finding 6 schools, it seems impossible as we only have 2 near us (well within assumed catchment area) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20677-school-opinions-heber-goodrich-fairlawn-horniman-bessemer-goose-green/page/2/#findComment-504446 Share on other sites

For those who are unfamiliar - a 1 rating is Outstanding (such as Fairlawn); 2 good; 3 satisfactory; and, 4 inadequate. goosegreenpta
Dear all,For those applying for a 2012 reception place come and have a look for yourself why so many parents are so very happy with Goose Green. The school will be having its monthly open day this coming Tuesday (6th December). Whilst it is usually the first Monday of every month this has been altered for December to accomodate other Christmas related activities taking place at school. No need to book a slot just come to the reception desk shortly after 9am and the headteacher Mrs Marland will conduct a tour of the whole school from nursery to year 6 including our dedicated art and music rooms. After the tour there will be an opportunity to meet and chat to parents of children currently at the school. See you thereGGPTA Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20677-school-opinions-heber-goodrich-fairlawn-horniman-bessemer-goose-green/page/2/#findComment-505134 Share on other sites
ema
Fairlawn is a fabulous school. The Head has his reasons for his belief in no uniform is a great policy. You say the children are happy in the playground....think about it. Maybe the school and the children concentrate on other issues, eg education, secure and confident individuals, good social skills, team-work, great environment....if it's not broken, why fix it?????????? In other words, why make a judgement about something so irrelevant? I grew up in a country where school uniforms don't exist and I'm still not quite sure what to think about them... I do think it is convenient not to have to discuss choice of clothing in the morning. But that's not the ultimate reason of course. To me it's mostly irrelevant too.
