Hi Gary,

I have PM'd you but can you remember the name of the nurse or doctor? 2 new doctors started recently at Melbourne Grove, one male and one female. When did you leave?

I started a thread earlier about phone consultations at Melbourne Grove but it was moved to ED businesses. Not sure why as all other doctor threads are in this section. Anyway, I said that I had a phone consultation with a Nurse Practitioner I hadn't met before. She told me I was only 'allowed' 5 minutes for this service. I found her statement rather peculiar and wondered if anyone else had experienced this. I had a number of things to discuss with her and was nonplussed by her attitude.

Thanks Admin but I didn't receive the explanation and checked the other thread before you removed it.

IF it was Melbourne Grove around the corner from East Dulwich Station, then yes. Who did you see there?

Great - nice to see they are managing to ensure there is no continuity of care.

I should have left this disastrous place already but - judging by local comment - the alternatives mean queueing up at 07.30 to get an appointment or hanging off the phone for hours at a time.

Does anyone have any information on the GP surgery at Dulwich Hospital (E.D.Primary Care Centre)? Last time I went past it looked open and uncrowded - is there a reason? Does it have a rep (good or bad)? The doc there (Dr Sarma) has apparently been there since 2006 and was at Maxted rd before then. Anyone any experience?

Maxxi,

I know what you mean about continuity of care. There isn't any there and hasn't been for ages. I tried to get an appt. with Dr. Arif but was told he was on holiday and even when there is only around one day a week. He is quite a good GP from what I have heard.

One of the new female doctors is part time. I heard the nicest nurse practioner is leaving - the one from North America.

I also had a difficult and frustrating time with MG med centre.

I ended up writing a letter of complaint and Dr Bhatia was responsive, apologetic and concerned and sorted everything out very quickly, looking into every detail of the complaint. If she had not been there when I needed her I would be in a very different situation to where I am now.

I have since moved out of the catchment but it is a real shame for that practice that she is leaving.

I wish her well.

Thanks for your comments. Sadly, she left quite a few months ago.

Yes, that is Jodie. She is very nice and efficient. Shame she is going.

Just do a search before you start a thread in case there is already one in existence.

    • This is a remarkable interpretation of history. Wikipedia (with more footnotes and citations than you could shake a shitty stick at sez: The austerity programme was initiated in 2010 by the Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government. In his June 2010 budget speech, Osborne identified two goals. The first was that the structural current budget deficit would be eliminated to "achieve [a] cyclically-adjusted current balance by the end of the rolling, five-year forecast period". The second was that national debt as a percentage of GDP would fall. The government intended to achieve both of its goals through substantial reductions in public expenditure.[21] This was to be achieved by a combination of public spending cuts and tax increases amounting to £110 billion.[26] Between 2010 and 2013, the Coalition government said that it had reduced public spending by £14.3 billion compared with 2009–10.[27] Growth remained low, while unemployment rose. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_government_austerity_programme From memory, last time around they were against the LTNs and competing with the Tories to pick up backlash votes - both failed. They had no counterproposals or ideas about how to manage congestion or pollution. This time around they're simply silent on the matter: https://www.southwark-libdems.org.uk/your-local-lib-dem-team/goosegreen Also, as we have seen from Mr Barber's comments on the new development on the old Jewsons yard, "leading campaigns to protect the character of East Dulwich and Goose Green" is code for "blocking new housing".

    • Revealing of what, exactly? I resurrected this thread, after a year, to highlight the foolishness of the OP’s op. And how posturing would be sagacity is quickly undermined by events, dear boy, events. The thread is about Mandelson. I knew he was a wrong ‘un all along, we all did; the Epstein shit just proves it. In reality, Kinnock, Blair, Brown, Starmer et all knew as well but accepted it, because they found him useful. As did a large proportion of the 2024 intake of Labour MPs who were personally vetted and approved by Mandelson.
