This is one of the longer Plus+ rides. It starts at 9.30am from the Park Life Cafe in Burgess Park (chumleigh gardens SE5 0RJ. It's called Commons, Parks and Windmills because that's what you get.

The plan is a loop starting in Burgess Park and then passing by or through Lambeth and Wandsworth parks starting with Myatts Fields. There will be a visit to Brixton Windmill and then on to Clapham Common, Wandsworth Common, Wandsworth Windmill, Tooting Bec Common and Brockwell Park. The route is a big circle ending up on the Surrey Canal Path back to Burgess Park.

The route with toilets and tricky bits specially marked is here:

It's free and everyone is welcome. Children must bring at least one adult.

This ride is organised by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the Southwark branch of the London Cycling Campaign and we (and they) campaign for safer cycling in London.

Before the ride (on Weds November 14th to be exact) Southwark Cyclists are holding their AGM. Speaker will be Michael Barrett MBE who looks after traffic arrangements around larger building developments and jointly set up the Road Safety Patrols (rides around current sites sorting out problems) with Southwark Cyclists.

Time is 6.30, place 41 Grosvenor Park SE5 0NH (in Camberwell). More info at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/agm-and-monthly-meeting/. Note talk will be followed by AGM, including a short report on Healthy Rides. At some point there will be free food and drink. Everyone welcome.

    • Between Herne Hill and North Dulwich gives you good options for transport. You have the line into London Bridge, trains to Victoria and the Thameslink into City Thameslink. Plus it's not too far from Brixton tube.
    • Wow - will do as you say - just find it extraordinary one needs to post something so trivial as this on forum - each to their own. Been a%member for a long time and know the-forum well - bought sold, given things way, had hubs and offered advice…
    • You do know that this post is the reason that forums exist? So that people can ask for help, advice etc.  I'm not sure what "...daughter of mothers"  means but if you mean friends, not everyone has friends, or is confident enough to ask other mums at the school. Oh and you it's nothing to do with your age -  be kind, be helpful or if you can't, leave it to someone who can.
