A month to learn how to breastfeed

I has high blood pressure, readmitted when he was a day old, back and forth to mau in the first 2 weeks with problems, ended up with a ct scan for horrible neurological symptoms

With a baby 100% reliant on ebm my breast pump blew up on Xmas day!

Thank goodness for the forum ... Had several offers of loan pumps Abd at about 11pm I went put with my cost over my pjs and borrowed a pump from saffron

Honestly, it was a terrible time and thd women here, really helped to keep be going, especially at 3am when I felt so ill and alone

Wow, that's a year ago?! Doesn't time fly, and how amazing that you came through it all so admirably. Must be time for #5? ;-)

I agree that the support to be gained from others on this board is fantastic, and it's very much the virtual equivalent of what our mothers did (although I know my mother wouldn't begin to understand if I told her I was part of a Mum's community online!).

I remember as I was pregnant and it really made me realise that just because you have breastfed easily once the next baby can be entirely different. Well done for getting through it all!

It is amazing how much support, virtual and real, is out there now. My mum was only in her early twenties when she had me, had just moved to the outskirts of a small town 200 miles away from her family and didn't even have a phone. Apparently the weekly baby clinic visit was literally the thing she looked forward to all week. I would absolutely have gone mad...we are lucky!

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
