Looking for design and builder - Honor Oak Park

Honor Oak

Recommended Posts

Hi ED Forum,

We've just moved to Honor Oak Park and are looking for recommendations for good quality design and builders in the local area.

For an idea of the works we are carrying out we will be refurbishing the whole lower ground floor meaning:

- Knock down structural wall on lower ground floor

- Re-plumb

- Re-wire

- Installation of french doors

- New floor

- Re-plaster

- Install new kitchen

So we are looking for a builder who has good experience, and can also help with some design work.

Thank you

Tom

Built my loft and pretty much the rest of the house. Lovely guy. Very trustworthy and will do whatever he can to ensure what you ask for gets done. Sometimes to his own detriment.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
